While counting and watching the shorebirds along Lake Sherry in Oxley NC I noticed a wading bird that did not look familiar immediately - a White-faced Ibis. I have only seen one once before when I was birding at Red Slough in far southeast Oklahoma. I was delighted to see one in Tulsa.
